Will compressing reduce quality?
Balanced (75) is nearly invisible at normal viewing sizes while cutting file size a lot. Use High quality (90) for prints, or Smallest (50) for thumbnails.
What format gives the smallest files?
WebP is usually the smallest at similar quality. Turn on Convert to WebP if your site or app supports it. PNG stays lossless, so it shrinks less than JPG or WebP.
Why didn't my image get smaller?
Compress Image never returns a bigger file. If the result would be larger, your original is kept and marked Already optimized. Images that are already tightly compressed have little left to remove.
